I am a 53 year old woman with osteoporosis , spinal stenosis and other various aches and issues. Having a personal trainer that is capable of both challenging me and achieving incredible results while being knowledgeable and creative enough to accommodate my limitations is indeed a rare find. Chris Rose has been working with me for the past 3 years and in that time I have experienced a remarkable improvement in strength, flexibility and stamina. Chris has developed a specific combination of yoga, core stability and weight training that has produced significant results. According to my latest bone scan I have regenerated 3% bone mass and have even grown ½ an inch! Chris is a true professional in his field and is constantly striving to keep this client motivated and inspired. — Sandra Seltzer
I am a 43 year old man, and have been taking Hot Yoga classes from Chris
Rose for over 4 years. Initially I took classes from Chris and other
instructors at another studio. When that Studio closed, Chris opened
Perfect Circle Yoga on St. Pete Beach, and I have since been taking my hot
yoga classes exclusively at Perfect Circle Yoga. Through hot yoga, with
Chris’ expert instruction, I have been able to regain flexibility that I
have not had for over 20 years, while increasing my stamina for other
physical activities. It has also helped me to stay in shape, which has
become much more difficult after 40. I also believe in the cleansing and
detoxifying that comes from doing the 90 minute class in a heated room.
I have also had the opportunity to take personal fitness training classes
from Chris, and have found him to be very competent and helpful. Chris
mixes up the fitness routines to target different areas of the body, while
utilizing different routines to keep exercising and fitness fun and
interesting.
I would highly recommend Chris Rose and Perfect Circle Yoga to anyone
looking for a fun and easy way to get into, or stay in good shape and great
health!

Yoga has been my choice for mind/body . . . relaxation/exercise since the 1980’s. I am not a yogi and alas, I do not have that serene look. In fact, I tend to seek out a yoga fix when I notice the furrows of my brow have grown slightly deeper or the muscles between my shoulder blades are gripping too tightly. About 6 months ago, a friend suggested I attend a Bikrim Yoga class with her (otherwise known as hot yoga). She warned that I might find it challenging to stay in the room for the whole class, but if I stayed, I would have reached my first goal. Since I had done yoga, I was sure I’d be fine. Well . . . I was unprepared for how hot the room was @105 degrees! I stayed in the room for the whole class and was able to do most of the postures, and dripping with sweat 90 minutes later, I felt a great sense of accomplishment for having done so! I was impressed by how much more I was able to stretch during some of the postures. But, at the time, I didn’t think it was likely that I’d be making Bikram Yoga a regular part of my exercise program mostly because Chris Rose’s studio was too far from my house. As it turns out, a couple of months later, he moved to the beach, which is very convenient for me. I’ve tried to make it at least once a week since he has been in the 595-B Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach location. It is still the best workout I’ve ever had that can be done within the space of a beach towel! And about the heat — yeah, well, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that! So if you don’t think yoga is a good heart-pumping exercise, try Bikram Yoga at Perfect Circle Yoga and Fitness (btw, it is named after the Yogi who invented it.).

“I have had many Bikram yoga instructors in multiple states and no one compares to Chris Rose. What sets Chris apart from everyone else is that he does more than simply go through the pre-defined Bikram script. For each workout, Chris fully expresses a passion and enthusiasm that is very engaging. Plus ,even with large classes, he would give everyone the individual attention they need whether it’s before, during or after class. His positive attitude and encouragement took my yoga to new levels.”

Hey, Chris! Thank you so much for the Yoga Challenge!! I ended up with a total loss of 22.5 inches … 7.5 of which were on my thighs alone! Wow …
In addition, I received a lot of mental clarity through the process, so I thank you for that as well.
It seems I detoxed the “crud” right out of my brain along with the other stuff that went away.

I have taken yoga classes at several of the available studios in the Tampa Bay area. Chris Rose is by far the most capable, charismatic, and above all caring yoga instructors of them all. With Chris’s help, I have rolled back the years on my bones, body, and face. I truly know this yoga has kept me feeling and looking younger than my birthdays keep trying to tell me I am. I highly recommend Chris for those who want to feel strong and vibrant!
Hi Chris,
I am a 53 year old female who got into hot yoga because I had skin cancer and wanted a way to keep my skin healthy and clean through all of that sweating. I also had 5 knee surgeries which significantly limited the flexibility of the knees in addition to a car accident that cause me to have 8 herniated and degenerated disks in the neck and lower back.
Probably the best and unexpected benefit of hot yoga was the way it flushed the stress right out of my body. I am a licensed mental health counselor who deals with the military population and their families. Talk about lots of stress. I am constantly dealing with crisis, tragedy, domestic abuse, child abuse, suicide, homicide, infidelity, marital discord as a part of my everyday work life. And try as I may, you can’t help but take on some of the stress of the individuals you are helping. Hot yoga is such an effective tool to release the stress that is held in your body. I leave yoga class feeling like a new person, free of all of my own cares and the cares of the individuals I help.
Some additional benefits I have had from hot yoga is increased mobility in neck, back, and knees. The postures really promote a properly aligned body. For as long as I can remember my feet were pronated (pointing out rather than straight ahead). Hot yoga has changed the alignment of my body and now my feet naturally point straight ahead. This was a condition I thought I was born with that has corrected from doing the postures.
I also thought that I had naturally fat and ugly ankles. After doing the hot yoga, the swelling in the ankles subsided. Now I can actually see my ankle bones.
Thanks for everything,
Linda Lovejoy

I am 38 years old, and decided to embark on the 30 day challenge one month ago. In the past 30 days, I have completed 10 boot camp and 20 hot yoga classes. I have always been athletic, have ran marathons, and also have had chronic issues with injuries, lack of flexibility, and pain in my hips and lower back. Yoga was new to me and I struggled with many of the postures during the first week. Chris Rose is an excellent guide and inspires through enthusiasm and support. Since the first week of yoga, I noticed a tremendous difference in my body physically, my mind in terms of mental clarity, and my emotional state. My husband urges me to attend classes so I can come back home more relaxed, balanced and at-ease. The Bootcamp classes are always challenging and full of variety. I’ve seen my strength increase as I could only do 5 push- ups 30 days ago, and now I can do 25. These classes are for any age and at any fitness level. Perfect Circle Yoga has enabled me to release some of the tension and stress that compounds daily. Not only am I physically stronger and more flexible, but I feel calm, at peace and am glad that I take an hour and a half each day to spend it on myself, and no one else. My body has toned, I feel a lengthening in my limbs, and the desire to eat healthy. The natural detox through sweating profusely in 105 degree heat tends to have that positive effect. My skin is also clear, and my friends have commented on my complexion. One month ago, I thought I’d try out Perfect Circle Yoga and see if I liked it. Today, I have decided to make it a part of my weekly mental, physical and emotional health regime. I highly recommend Perfect Circle Yoga and Chris Rose if you’re looking for inspiration, motivation, and positivity – all adding up to beneficial results.

I just attended my first Bikram yoga class at Perfect Circle Yoga, St. Pete Beach. To say I am highly dissapointed is an understatement. Upon signing up, I mentioned to the instructor my enthusiasm at trying this type of yoga, especially since I have back issues; in fact, I told her (Kimberely) that I “just had an xray yesterday, and was pleased that the physician said there is no bone damage, and that I may resume exercising”. Instead of cautioning me that Bikram yoga MAY NOT BE THE BEST TYPE OF YOGA FOR A BEGINNER, ESPECIALLY ONE WITH BACK ISSUES, she encouraged me stating a personal example of an arm injury and how Bikram has nearly cured her issues.
During class, the emphasis was on completing each pose “specifically’ (near perfection) with absolutely NO MODIFICATION being offered for beginners, or the injured, at any time. This was truly my biggest criticism. IF this is what bikram implies, I truly feel that Kimberly, and your website should state this, and not encourage beginners to try to obtain impossible poses, which can further injure them. Instead, nearly every testimonial on your site is someone stating how, in spite of herniated discs, injured knees, etc. they have benefited.
INstead, for me, I must now get my back to STOP spasming before I return to work at 6 am tomorrow, to work a 12 hour shift!!!
Very disappointed,
Suz
Hey Suz,
I am sympathetic to your feelings, however I have to agree with Kim here. Bikram Yoga is absolutely the best type of yoga for beginners ESPECIALLY one with back issues. I’ve been doing it and teaching it for almost 10 years now and before that worked in western physical therapy for 3 years. I have seen amazing results to say the least. Kim is most definitely a great example of what this yoga can do for you, she has suffered from some major injuries the arm probably being the least of them and this yoga has changed her life.
She is also right about performing the poses with near perfection. That doesn’t mean you have to go as far as an advanced student, you just have to go as far as YOU can the RIGHT way. Thus, there are not any modifications in Bikram Yoga. The precise instruction you receive in Bikram Yoga guides you as far as you can go in the RIGHT way. Everyone starts from the beginning of the pose and goes as far into the pose they can the right way with honest effort and your body will receive 100% benefit from the pose. Absolutely everyone can benefit from this yoga no matter their situation. I know that’s a very bold statement, but I have seen it over and over again. The best thing you can do for your back is to practice 4 to 5 times a week for the first 2 months (at least 3 times a week), I know because of responsibilities that can be very hard to do but pain can be a huge motivator. If you do you will realize why a regular practice and the teacher’s instruction is so important. You will practice the same postures so you WILL improve and you will get to know precisely the ONLY way to do these postures. Unfortunately their is no time to ask questions during class, but ANY Bikram Yoga teacher will be more than happy to answer any questions anytime before and after class. You can also see a lot more testamonials and benefits in Bikram’s book and on the internet.
Believe me I know it’s not easy, but the benefits will pay you 10 fold. I used to work 12 hour shifts too and when I started doing Bikram Yoga regularly at the end of the day I was in a great mood and my knees, back and feet felt great!
Feel free to call me if you have any questions. Best wishes! Chris Rose 727-50-2327
I, too, just started with Bikram (Hot) Yoga at Perfect Circle Yoga. As a 55-year-old woman who does cardio 3x a week, I explained that I suffer from lower back issues and I also have a metal pin in my right foot, which makes some postures a bit uncomfortable–but not impossible. Both Chris and Kim urged me to go only to the limit that worked for me. I listen to my body and do not feel the need to be perfect. But I do challenge myself and feel “cleansed” after each class. I have found the instructors to be nurturing and very encouraging. When they see that I am trying my best to get the most out of a posture, they compliment me–and that is a great reward! After only four classes, I can see and feel improvement. The first class was intimidating. There are other, much more able students, and the temperature took some getting used to. But the students are welcoming and friendly, and after my fourth class, which was today, I am looking forward to continuing! I have had a few aches and pains, which comes with all forms of exercise and stretching. Overall, I feel wonderful! I agree with Chris. Bikram Yoga is not easy. I know the limitations of my body and push myself a little more each time . . . and, yes, I have skipped postures and simply rested on my mat. I want to be the best me that I can be. Thank you, Chris and Kim for being so encouraging and talented at what you do. I am on my way to feeling great, being at peace with myself, and ready to face each new day–refreshed and renewed! Thank you!
